WHAT IS CERTIFIED AGING IN PLACE?
The Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) designation is used to identify professionals who have been be specifically trained in the technology, tools, and resources to help older adults and those with physical challenges to continue living safely, comfortably and independently in their homes. For example, we understand how to modify your kitchen and bathrooms to allow ease of access and safety for someone using a walker or wheelchair. This might include a zero clearance threshold into the shower, installation of grab bars in various locations, widening of doorways, as well as modifying vanities & cabinetry and replacing/relocating appliances to make them more accessible. In addition, the ideas of Universal Design are implemented to create spaces that may be used by multi-generational families and/or to provide updates that make a home “aging-ready.” Universal Design and Aging in Place principles not only transform the home you love into a life-long home, but also may make your house more marketable for future sale because it is suitable for people of various ages and physical challenges.

We are a member of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce and NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry).
For those experiencing health concerns related to aging or other special needs, we are also a Certified Aging in Place Specialist.
In addition, in order to handle renovations of older homes, we have been trained to deal appropriately with lead based paint and are certified by the EPA as a Lead Safe Firm.
